Skin Re-densification and Hydration
What’s Important to Know
A minimalist approach to skincare focuses on simplifying routines, enhancing natural radiance and prioritising long-term skin health.
At every age, nourishing the skin and improving skin hydration is always my first goal in any Regenerative Aesthetic plan.
Why is Skin Hydration so IMPORTANT ?
Skin is not just a protective barrier, it is a dynamic organ that plays multiple crucial roles in both physical and emotional health.
Importantly, it is your outward presentation to the world.
Healthy moist skin can support self-confidence and emotional wellbeing. This may sound shallow but I don’t believe it is. Persistent rashes, breakouts and skin disfigurement can play absolute havoc with self esteem.
The condition of your skin and your hair is one of the first signs I look for when meeting with a new patient. Your skin colour, tone, texture and hydration can tell me so much about life’s journey. I can assess just by looking at a regular patient if they have been recently unwell or under a lot of stress. Excess stress has the potential to visably shift skin quality almost overnight.
One of the most critical aspects of skin health is maintaining proper hydration levels. Drinking more water is only a part of the story. When the skin is injured, accidentally or in a medically managed way, it undergoes a complex process of wound healing including initial inflammation, tissue stimulation and growth factor activation, then ultimately remodelling which can take some months. Cellular hydration plays a vital role in each of these stages:
My favourite minimally invasive in clinic treatments
Bio-remodelling support is where we support tissue fibroblasts and skin layer restructuring . This involves no change to facial shape as we address your skin QUALITY.
Collagen induction with a micro-needling + infusion of ampoules of highly active ingredients individualised specific to your skin or Platelet rich plasma (PRP)
Exosome micro-needling with home exosome care
Hyaluronic acid and nutrient (including peptides micronutrients and glutathione) stamping, known as the HA Beauty Booster
Bio-remodelling with Profhilo, 10 point BAP technique on face
Bio-remodelling with Reduran (Korean) using denatured Salmon DNA fragments
Why ? understanding the cycle of healthy tissue regeneration :
Inflammation stage: Adequate hydration helps to reduce inflammation by ensuring the skin’s barrier function remains intact. Dehydrated skin is more prone to irritation, sun-damage, rashes and slow wound healing.
Tissue Regeneration: Skin cell regeneration requires a well-hydrated and well nourished environment. Skin cells need water for function and repair. Without adequate hydration, the skin’s ability to regenerate and close wounds is significantly impaired.
Collagen Production: Hydrated skin supports the production of collagen, a protein essential for healthy skin especially skin elasticity. Collagen synthesis is vital for forming new skin tissue and repairing damage. A polyphenol, healthy fat and phytonutrient rich diet is foundational for this stage. The co factors in these foods support cellular energy production for repair and a more youthful bio-remodelling.
Preventing Infection: A well-hydrated skin barrier is more effective at preventing pathogens from entering and causing infections. Maintaining hydration minimizes your risk of complications during the wound healing process. Maintaining outer layer moisture is most important after any of my recommended treatments.
Skin ageing and Hydration
Both male and female skin undergoes natural physiological changes over time due to many INTRINSIC factors: oxidative stress, cellular senescence (zombie cells and premature ageing changes), ethnicity and anatomical variations, hormonal changes, stress and cortisol, poor nutrition, excess sugar, alcohol and glycation. There are also the more EXTRINSIC factors of sun exposure, air pollution and environmental toxin exposure. Your skin is literally your soldier on the frontline of defence.
which can result in
A thinner more fragile vulnerable and possibly chronically inflamed dermis
Decreased fibroblasts
Loss of Extra Cellular Matrix structure , your engine room for collagen, elastin and Hyaluronic acid
My tips to support you to improve skin moisture elasticity and barrier function:
Water and electrolyte balance , develop healthy daily habits and drink from glass not plastic.
Don’t overdo the coffee, enjoy 1-2 cups max per day
Hyaluronic gel concentrated topical, apply often especially under eyes , on lips and as advised post clinic treatment
Develop a twice daily simple skin routine with active products containing healthy skin friendly fats, active peptides and other clean and nourishing ingredients
Don’t over consume alcohol, it has dehydrating properties
Don’t over exercise, for some it can become a skin stressor
Learn how to improve parasympathetic tone, we can discuss as this “takes the stress out” of your nervous system and tissues and improves blood flow
know the state of your microbiome and work towards a healthy bacterial population
Regular application of a mineral based sunscreen all year round
My recommended treatments are well tested in scientific literature and minimally invasive. These details and the evidence behind each can be discussed with you at consultation.
Supporting Cell Turnover:
Hydration and nutrients support the natural process of cell turnover, where dry older skin cells are replaced by new ones. This happens in healthy skin about every 4-5 weeks. This process of “feeding” your skin is vital for keeping the skin looking fresh and vibrant.
A diet rich in anti-oxidants, phytonutrients and skin friendly oils
A lifestyle that supports the removal of exogenous toxins, what have you been exposed to and how healthy are your natural detox pathways ?
Consistent and restorative sleep
A healthy work life and stress balance
A balanced and healthy biome on your skin and within your gut, both very interconnected.
Plumping the Skin:
Hydrated skin appears fuller and plumper, which can help to diminish the visibility of age-related concerns and aid papillary dermis reconstruction.
I have limited availability before the Christmas season so if this is something that interests you simply book online : or contact me.
